Since setting her sights on the design world, Talulah designer Kelli Wharton has paved a stylish path to establishing Talulah as a name synonymous with creative vision and unique design that is both wearable and affordable.
What began as a small lingerie line transformed into a more complete offering when Kelli realized her need to explore her creativity.
Her instinct was on the mark, with Talulah currently stocked in over 100 of the most discerning boutiques across Australia. Talulah’s seasonal collections capture the essence of the designer’s signature aesthetic – feminine, detailed and distinctive. Kelli’s influences are constantly evolving and subtly shine through in her designs; whether it be a rare vintage find, an archived visual reference or different cultural artists, they breathe life and passion into each garment.
Combined with her love of quality fabrics, rich colours and unique embellishments, these elements form the basis of each Talulah collection.
On the international scene, Talulah made fans of industry professionals and Hollywood stars alike when it debuted at the G’Day USA festival in January. Kelli hit the international circuit armed with samples of her latest resort collection Rock and Roll Fairytale, an eclectic mix of dazzling embellishments, luxe metallics and bold, dramatic shapes.
The collection was a hit among celebrity stylists, Hollywood starlets and discerning fashion agents, with many describing Talulah as having a sophisticated “east-coast” appeal at an affordable price point. With five new US stockists confirmed so far, the label has also picked up its first stockists in Japan and Taiwan. With a genuine buzz surrounding the label from one of the toughest markets in the business, Talulah’s future is looking bright.
